Nicodemus has lived in the forested Lowlands with his best friend, an elephant he named “Ajax”, ever since his parents were killed when his village was destroyed by raiders. Since then, he’s lived in the woods, where he’s spent his time foraging, hunting, and in general, living peacefully with his elephant friend. Their lives are turned upside-down when fierce warriors from the mountains to the far North capture them both. Seeing the value of a powerful elephant in his war against a rival clan, the Chieftain conscripts Nicodemus and Ajax in his army and brings them to his villgage. Now, in a strange land surrounded by enemies, Nicodemus and Ajax are forced to fight for their very survival. Will they be able to navigate the complex tribal politics as well as survive an unforgiving war? This is the first book what will become a 3-part series!
About the author:
My name is Jakob Sibley. I’ve always had a passion for history, whether it be reading books, watching World War II documentaries, or perusing historic towns and cities. Recently, I’ve taken my long-held passion for history and fused it with a new passion: creative writing. Through this fusion, I’ve created my magnum opus: The Nicodemus and Ajax Trilogy, a nascent epic about the relationship between a man and an elephant as they seek to navigate an ancient world fraught with war, love, betrayal, and politics. I plan on publishing my book within the next several months. I hope you’ll come along on this fascinating literary journey with me.
